Josh Brown | bio [+]
Josh Brown is a young artist working out of Charlotte, NC and Savannah, GA whose work is gaining popularity rapidly. He is a student -athlete at the Savannah College of Art and Design, majoring in Industrial Design and playing goalkeeper on the varsity men’s soccer team. Josh has produced a body of work while going to school. He has worked hard as a student, painter and athlete. He has been recognized as a NAIA Academic All-American for the last three years and will graduate in spring of 2015.
Josh has had a lifetime interest in animals and enjoys bringing the personalities of each animal to life in a very graphic way. His bold minimalist painting style and graceful sculptures capture the energy and attitude of his subjects creating joy, magnetic characters and curiously subtle movement. Josh does this deftly with sculptural brush strokes and refined palette knife.
Josh’s works are currently represented in galleries in Charlotte, NC; Charleston, SC; and Atlanta, GA. Josh actively supports his local community by donating a portion of his works to fundraising events that support battered women’s shelters and centers for eating disorders. Josh desires to inspire goodwill and good humor with his art and life.
